Auto Release & Quick Release Buckles

12 products

Auto release buckles connect two strap ends and open by hand without rethreading the webbing. This category includes two-part quick release buckles for 19 mm and 25 mm webbing, cobra-style side release and bayonet buckles, and auto side release and adjustable buckles for 45 mm harness webbing, some with double lock systems or integrated sliding bar adjusters. Materials include aluminium alloy, including drop forged frames, steel and stainless steel, with anodised and CED finishes. Typical applications range from duty belts, straps and equipment carriers to harness leg loops and waist belts. Where a buckle forms part of personal protective equipment, the finished harness must meet the relevant standard, such as EN 361 or EN 358 in Europe, so buckle strength should be specified and tested in the assembly. The buckles can be supplied OEM or private label, or modified to a drawing.

Frequently asked questions

Can these quick release buckles be used on fall protection harnesses?
Some can, but only where the buckle has a defined strength rating and the finished harness has been tested to the applicable standard. Several buckles in this category, such as the 19 mm and 25 mm quick release types, have no published breaking strength and should be treated as closures for belts and straps unless a rating is agreed and verified. Ask for the rating and test configuration before designing a buckle into PPE.
What does a double lock system add?
A double lock buckle needs two separate actions to open, for example pressing a button and then pulling side tabs, rather than a single squeeze. This reduces the chance of the buckle opening by accident when the strap is rubbed or snagged during work. It is a common requirement for buckles on harnesses and belts that carry load.
How do I choose between aluminium, steel and stainless steel buckles?
Aluminium buckles are light and can be anodised in brand colours, which suits harnesses and equipment that are worn all day. Steel parts add durability at the engagement points, and some designs combine an aluminium body with a steel buckle. Stainless steel is preferred for marine, outdoor or frequently washed equipment where corrosion resistance matters most.
Why do two breaking strength figures sometimes appear for one buckle?
A buckle can be tested in different directions or configurations, for example across the main connection versus through an adjuster, and each can give a different result. When a listing shows two values, confirm with the manufacturer which load case each figure refers to. Then match that load case to how the buckle will be loaded in your product.
What should I specify when requesting a quotation?
Give the webbing width and thickness, the strength your product requires, the material and finish or anodising colour, and any logo or marking. Mention the standard the finished product must meet and whether test documentation is needed. A drawing or sample is useful if you need a modified buckle.

Need this in a different specification?

Different size, material, finish, strength rating or gate, or a part that is not here at all. Send a drawing or a sample and we will come back with a DFM review and a quotation.

  • A reply within two business days from our team in Taipei.
  • NDA on request before drawings or specifications change hands.
  • An engineering and DFM review, not a sales pitch — we will say so if we are the wrong fit.
