3190 Steel Bayonet Buckle

In the 3190, both the receiving body and the inserted buckle are steel. At 107 g it is a robust choice where a manufacturer prefers steel over aluminium for durability and resistance to wear at the engagement points.

Bayonet-style buckles are typically used to close the leg or chest straps of harnesses and other strap assemblies, where a user needs to connect and release quickly. No breaking strength or load rating is published for the 3190. A harness or equipment maker should state the strength its product requires and verify it by testing before the buckle is used in fall protection or any other safety-critical role.
