SA04 Via Ferrata Spring Shock Absorber for Ladder Lifelines

The SA04 is a spring-type shock absorber in stainless steel, listed for ladder vertical lifelines on via ferrata routes and compatible with 8 mm wire cable. Its spring is also stainless steel, and it is designed to reduce fall arrest forces. It sits in the same family as the SA03, which shares its materials and cable size, and the PU-based SA01 and SA02.

In a vertical cable system, the absorber is installed in the line so that a fall loads the spring before it loads the anchor and ladder fully, limiting peak forces on the structure. All-stainless construction is suited to permanent outdoor installation on rock routes, masts, towers and access ladders.

As the SA03 and SA04 share the same headline specification, buyers should request drawings and test data to identify the differences, for example in size, spring rate or fixing, and confirm suitability with the system designer. Installation and inspection should follow the system documentation. The SA04 can be produced as OEM or private-label product, or to a customer drawing.
