SA03 Via Ferrata Spring Shock Absorber for Ladder Lifelines

A stainless steel spring, rather than a polyurethane element, provides the energy absorption in the SA03. The body is also stainless steel, and the unit is compatible with 8 mm wire cable. It is made for ladder vertical lifeline systems used on via ferrata routes, with the purpose of reducing fall arrest forces.

Spring-type absorbers compress under the sudden load of a fall, so the anchors and ladder see a lower peak force than they would with a rigid connection. An all-stainless construction suits outdoor installations where the absorber stays in the line permanently and is exposed to weather, as on mountain routes, towers and industrial ladders.

The SA03 and SA04 share the same materials and cable size, so buyers choosing between them should ask for drawings and performance data to compare length, spring characteristics and fixing details.
