SA02 Via Ferrata Shock Absorber for Ladder Lifelines, Stainless Steel and PU

Built for ladder vertical lifelines, the SA02 uses a polyurethane (PU) element housed in stainless steel and is compatible with 8 mm wire cable. Its purpose is to reduce fall arrest forces, and it is part of the via ferrata component range. A horizontal-system counterpart in the same materials is listed as the SA-02.

When a climber falls on a vertical lifeline, the cable, anchors and ladder see a sudden load. Placing an energy-absorbing element in the line spreads that load over a short stroke, lowering the peak force on the top anchor and on the structure the ladder is fixed to. PU absorbers do this through compression of the elastomer.

Typical installations include via ferrata ladders and fixed access ladders on towers, tanks and buildings. Activation force and stroke should be requested and checked against the system design. The SA02 can be produced as OEM or private label, or to a customer drawing, and should be installed only as part of a system specified by a competent person.
