An integrated latch is the defining feature of the 7200A eye chain hook, and two sizes are listed. The 7/8-8 version, for 7 or 8 mm Grade 8 chain, has a working load limit of 2.0 ton and a net weight of 0.42 kg. The 10-8 version is rated at 3.2 ton and weighs 1.00 kg. Both are specified with a minimum breaking load of four times the WLL.
The eye end connects to chain through a connecting link, or to a master link or other fitting, and the latch is built into the hook design to close the opening. Hooks of this type are used on chain slings and lifting assemblies in workshops, construction sites and plant maintenance. As lifting hardware, the 7200A is not intended for personal fall protection.
When specifying, give the chain size and grade and the connector that will join the eye, and ask for the drawing to confirm throat opening and latch operation. The hook can be made as OEM or private label, or to a drawing.
