The 6800A eye choke hook is listed in four sizes: 7/8-8 at a working load limit of 2.0 ton and 0.36 kg, 10-8 at 3.2 ton and 0.73 kg, 13-8 at 5.4 ton and 1.40 kg, and 16-8 at 8.2 ton and 3.17 kg. Each has a minimum breaking load of four times its WLL.
Choke hooks let a chain pass through the hook so the sling can be wrapped around a load and pulled tight, gripping bundles of bar, pipe, timber or other loads that cannot be hooked directly. The eye end is joined to the chain or master link with a connecting link. Remember that a choker hitch carries less than the sling's straight-pull rating, and that the angle of choke affects capacity further. The 6800A is lifting hardware and is not intended for personal fall protection.
Buyers should confirm the chain size and grade the hook must pass and the connector that will join the eye. The 6800A can be supplied as OEM or private label, or modified to a customer drawing.
