Product details
Combining a swivel with a clevis and a self-locking hook, the 6400A lets the hook turn to face the lifting point while staying pinned to the chain. Six sizes are published: 6-8 at 1.2 ton and 0.76 kg, 7/8-8 at 2.0 ton, 10-8 at 3.2 ton, 13-8 at 5.4 ton, 16-8 at 8.2 ton, and 18/20-8 at 12.5 ton with a net weight of 13.7 kg. Minimum breaking load is four times the working load limit.
On this hook, the latch closes and locks automatically and stays locked until the operator presses the release trigger. The swivel helps prevent twisted chain legs when the hook is engaged at an awkward angle, which is useful on multi-leg slings and in confined lifting areas. Typical uses include construction, precast and machinery lifting. The 6400A is lifting hardware, not fall protection equipment.
When specifying, confirm the chain size and grade and whether the swivel is required to turn under load or only to align the hook before lifting. The 6400A can be supplied under OEM or private label, or to a drawing.
