6900A Grade 80 Sliding Choke Hook
The 6900A (Art. No. 6900A) is a Grade 80 sliding choke hook used to form choker hitches that can be set and released easily. Four sizes are listed from 3/8-1/2 in (WLL 1.5 ton) to 1 in (WLL 5.0 ton).

Product details
The 6900A sliding choke hook is sized in inches with working load limits in tons. The 3/8-1/2 in size is rated at 1.5 ton and weighs 0.71 kg; the 5/8 in at 2.2 ton and 1.31 kg; the 3/4 in at 3.6 ton and 2.20 kg; and the 1 in at 5.0 ton and 4.30 kg. Minimum breaking load is four times the WLL.
A sliding choke hook rides on the sling body, so the sling can be wrapped around a load and drawn tight to grip it, then slackened and removed without disconnecting hardware. It is used for bundles of pipe, bar and timber, logs and similar loads in forestry, construction and steel stockholding. A choker hitch reduces the rated capacity of a sling compared with a straight lift, which riggers must allow for. The 6900A is lifting hardware, not fall-arrest equipment.
