A12123TL Aluminium Twist-Lock Carabiner with Hook Nose

A12123TL is one of the largest aluminium frames in the range, measuring 122.6 x 79 mm and weighing 100 g. The listed breaking strength is 25 kN and the twist-lock gate opens to 25 mm.

Unlike the key-lock A121 models, this carabiner uses a hook nose, the traditional notched nose design, rather than a smooth key-lock profile. Hook noses are a traditional, robust design; the trade-off is that the nose can catch on slings or bolt hangers more easily than a key-lock nose, which buyers should weigh against the intended use. The twist-lock sleeve relocks automatically when released.

The size makes A12123TL useful where a rope, a device and several slings share one connector, for example at belay stations, in rescue haul systems or on work-positioning gear. A triple-lock version with the same listed dimensions is available as A12123TL-3.
