A12222KNB 7075 Aluminium Key-Lock Bent-Gate Carabiner

A12222KNB is the bent-gate version of the A12222 family. Its 7075 aluminium alloy frame measures 104.5 x 68 mm and weighs 55 g, with a 25 mm gate opening, the widest in the family. Rated strengths are 24 kN major axis, 8 kN minor axis and 8 kN gate open.

A bent gate funnels the rope into the basket, which speeds up clipping on steep routes, and the large opening makes the target easier to hit. Bent gates belong on the rope end of a quickdraw; on the bolt end the curve can be levered open by a hanger. The key-lock nose prevents the rope or sling from catching when the carabiner is removed.

A12222KNS (straight gate) and A12222KSG (screw gate) share the same frame for matching sets. A12222KNB is non-locking and not intended for belaying.
