A12224KSG 7075 Aluminium Key-Lock Screw-Gate Carabiner

A12224KSG is one of the strongest aluminium carabiners in the range, listed at 28 kN along the major axis, with 8 kN across the minor axis and 8 kN with the gate open. The 7075 aluminium alloy frame measures 119 x 78 mm, weighs 85 g and has a 22 mm screw-gate opening.

The large body offers space for a rope, a belay device and slings at the same point, which suits belaying, multi-pitch anchors and rescue or rope-work systems. A manual screw gate allows the user to lock and check the gate deliberately; the key-lock nose lets the carabiner leave slings and harness loops without catching.

The A12224 frame is also available with a twist-lock gate as A12224KTL, and A12225KTL lists similar figures.
