A12220KNS has a compact 97.55 x 59 mm frame in 7075 aluminium alloy and weighs 45 g. The straight gate opens to 16.5 mm, and it is rated at 24 kN major-axis, 8 kN minor-axis and 8 kN gate-open strengths.
The product photo shows a sculpted, asymmetric frame. Straight solid gates are favoured on the bolt end of quickdraws and for racking equipment, while the key-lock nose lets the carabiner leave hangers and slings without catching. The relatively small gate opening suits clipping slings and hangers rather than fat ropes.
A12220KNS is non-locking and is not intended for belaying or other connections that must remain closed. For a larger frame in the same style, see the A12222 series.
