A12123TL-3 shares the 122.6 x 79 mm aluminium alloy frame, 25 kN breaking strength, 25 mm gate opening and 100 g weight of A12123TL, but replaces the twist-lock with a triple-lock gate.

Three separate movements are needed to open the gate, which lowers the chance of it being rolled open by a rope or forced against an edge. That is the reason triple-action connectors are often requested for rescue teams, industrial rope access and any connection that is loaded and left unattended. The hook-type nose is a robust traditional form; buyers who clip slings or hangers frequently may prefer a key-lock model such as the A12120 series.

With its large internal space, the model can gather a rope, a pulley or descender and several slings at one point.
