A712NB Aluminium Bent-Gate Carabiner

A 26 mm gate opening sets the A712NB apart: it is the widest of the solid-gate A712 models, which helps when clipping a rope quickly from an awkward position. The aluminium alloy carabiner weighs 55 g and is rated 23 kN on the major axis, with 7 kN for minor-axis and gate-open loading.

The bent gate is meant for the rope end of a quickdraw. In the A712 series it is matched by the A712NS straight gate, a screw-gate model and two wire-gate versions, and the A712QD quickdraw combines A712-series carabiners with a nylon sling in 11, 17 and 25 cm lengths.
