The A2552SG completes the A2552 series with a locking screw gate. Compared with the non-locking NB and NS versions, the sleeve adds 15 g, for a weight of 70 g, and the gate opening is 18 mm. Breaking strengths stay at 25 kN on the major axis and 9 kN for minor-axis and gate-open loading, and the body is aluminium alloy.

A screw-gate carabiner of this size is a practical choice for attaching a belay device, closing an anchor, linking a personal lanyard to a harness or securing gear that must not come unclipped. The 18 mm opening should be checked against the thickest rope, sling or fitting it needs to accept.
