A712NS Aluminium Straight-Gate Carabiner

Rated 23 kN closed-gate on the major axis and 7 kN for minor-axis and gate-open loading, the A712NS is a straight solid-gate carabiner in aluminium alloy. It weighs 55 g, the same as its bent-gate partner the A712NB, and opens to 22 mm.

On a sport-climbing quickdraw, the straight gate normally clips into the bolt while the bent gate takes the rope. Away from quickdraws, the A712NS is a straightforward racking carabiner for slings, nuts and other protection, and its strength figures match the rest of the A712 series, which keeps technical documentation simple across a range.
