A712WRB Aluminium Wire-Gate Carabiner

The A712WRB swaps the solid gate of the A712NB and NS for a wire gate, reducing the weight to 50 g and widening the gate opening to 30 mm, the largest in the A712 series. The body is aluminium alloy, and the listed breaking strengths are 23 kN on the major axis and 7 kN for minor-axis and gate-open loading.

Wire gates are lighter than solid gates and less prone to icing and gate flutter, which makes this model a good fit for alpine quickdraws, extendable slings and gear racking. The wide opening also makes it easy to clip with gloves.

The series includes a second wire-gate version, the A712WRS, with the same listed figures; buyers should request the drawings of both when choosing between them. Power Honour can supply either under private label, with marking and colour set by the brand owner, or adapt the design to a drawing.
