SS910 316 Stainless Steel D Shackle

The SS910 is the core D shackle in the stainless range, made from AISI 316 stainless steel in seven sizes by D: 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm (3/16 to 3/4 in.). B and d are equal at every size, from 10 mm on the smallest to 38 mm on the largest, and overall length L runs from 20 mm to 76 mm.

Each size carries a listed breaking load (BL): 1300 kg (5 mm), 1800 kg (6 mm), 3500 kg (8 mm), 5400 kg (10 mm), 7200 kg (12 mm), 13500 kg (16 mm) and 18200 kg (20 mm). Breaking load is the force at failure, so the working load for a given job must be set lower by applying an appropriate safety factor. D shackles of this kind connect chain, wire rope terminations, thimbles, padeyes and sails on boats, docks, balustrades and tension structures.
