SS9101 316 Stainless Steel Long D Shackle
The SS9101 is a long-type D shackle in AISI 316 stainless steel, in five sizes from 4 mm (5/32 in.) to 10 mm (13/32 in.). Its longer body leaves more room inside the shackle for thick eyes, toggles or several attachments, and breaking loads of 800 kg to 3200 kg are listed for the 4 to 8 mm sizes.

Product details
SS9101 is the long version of the stainless D shackle, made from AISI 316 stainless steel. Five sizes are listed by D: 4 mm (5/32 in.), 5 mm (3/16 in.), 6 mm (1/4 in.), 8 mm (5/16 in.) and 10 mm (13/32 in.), with B from 8 to 20 mm and overall length L from 22 to 55 mm. At 5 mm, L is 29 mm, against 20 mm for the standard SS910 D shackle.
Breaking loads (BL) are listed as 800 kg for 4 mm, 1100 kg for 5 mm, 1600 kg for 6 mm and 3200 kg for 8 mm; no figure is given for the 10 mm size. These are breaking loads, not working load limits, and a suitable safety factor has to be applied for each application. The extra length helps where the shackle must pass through a thick eye, padeye or toggle, or carry more than one attachment, as in sail, block and mooring connections.
