SS450 316 Stainless Steel Fixed Snap Shackle

SS450 is a snap shackle with a fixed, non-swivelling eye, made in AISI 316 stainless steel. The jaw is held closed by a plunger and opened by pulling the release ring, so a line or sail can be clipped on or freed quickly. Three sizes are listed: L 52 mm with A 12 mm and B 9 mm, L 66 mm with A 16 mm and B 16 mm, and L 96 mm with A 22 mm and B 16 mm.

Snap shackles are standard on sailboats for halyards, sheets, spinnaker and guy connections, and are also used on mooring lines, tenders and covers. A fixed eye keeps the fitting compact; where the line must rotate, the swivel versions SS451 and SS453 are the alternatives. Grade 316 resists salt-water corrosion. No working load is listed, so the shackle is general marine hardware and not lifting or fall-protection equipment.
