SS912 316 Stainless Steel D Shackle with Sink Head Pin

The SS912 shares its body dimensions with the SS913 but uses a sink head, or countersunk, pin that sits flush with the shackle ear instead of standing proud. It is made from AISI 316 stainless steel in five sizes by A: 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 mm (9/32 to 15/32 in.), with B and D from 14 to 24 mm and overall length L from 28 to 48 mm.

A flush pin head reduces the chance of sails, sheets, canvas or hands catching on the shackle, which is why countersunk-pin shackles are often chosen for sail attachments, running rigging near crew and deck fittings in busy areas. Grade 316 resists salt-water corrosion. No load data is published for this item, so it is not intended for lifting or personal fall protection.
