AP-020 Aluminium Alloy Pulley, 78 g

Weighing only 78 g, AP-020 is one of the lightest load-rated pulleys in the range, yet it carries a listed breaking strength of 30 kN. The side plates are aluminium alloy and the pulley accepts rope up to 12 mm. Its dimension drawing appears as the second image.

Lightweight pulleys are popular in self-rescue and crevasse-rescue kits, in rope access rescue bags and for climbers and arborists who want a redirect or a simple haul system without carrying extra weight. Even with a small pulley, the attachment point can see close to twice the rope tension when rope runs through 180 degrees, so system design should account for that.

The 12 mm rope size is narrower than the 13 mm common elsewhere in this range, so buyers should confirm it matches their rope programme. In an RFQ, specify colour, marking, bearing or bushing preference and certification route; EN 12278 is the European standard for mountaineering pulleys.
