A716KSG Aluminium Key-Lock Screw-Gate Carabiner

A716KSG adds a threaded locking sleeve to the 105 x 60 mm aluminium alloy frame of the A716 series. The gate opens to 16 mm, the weight is 60 g and the listed strengths are 23 kN major axis, 7 kN minor axis and 7 kN gate open.

The locking sleeve reduces the usable gate opening compared with the non-locking versions, so A716KSG is best used for single items: a belay device, a personal anchor sling, a tool lanyard or a pack. For busy anchor points with several ropes and slings, a larger pear-shaped carabiner is a better choice. The key-lock nose avoids catching on harness loops.

A716KSG matches the A716KNB bent-gate and A716KNS straight-gate models, so a range can share a single design across quickdraws and lockers.
