This is the auto-locking sister of the A2480SG. The A2480TL keeps the 24 mm gate opening and the 22 / 8 / 8 kN breaking strengths, while its twist-lock sleeve adds 10 g for a total weight of 80 g. Body material is aluminium alloy.
A twist-lock gate closes and locks itself when released, removing the step of screwing a sleeve shut. Combined with a wide opening, that makes the A2480TL convenient at climbing anchors, for attaching belay and rappel devices, and for gathering several slings at one point.
Buyers choosing between the two versions should consider how often the carabiner will be opened in use: twist-locks are quicker for frequent clipping, while screw gates are simple to operate and inspect.
