Built in aluminium alloy with an anodised standard finish, the A2447KTL weighs 84 g and has a minimum breaking strength of 25 kN. It is the twist-lock counterpart of the screw-lock A2447KSG, and its sleeve turns back into the locked position by itself whenever the gate closes, which accounts for the extra 6 g.
Self-locking carabiners are preferred where connections are made repeatedly and a forgotten screw sleeve would be a risk, for example at climbing-gym belay stations, in instruction, or when clipping into anchors many times a day.
