A2448TL Aluminium Twist-Lock Carabiner

Where the A2448SG uses a manual screw, the A2448TL fits a spring-loaded twist-lock sleeve that rotates closed and locks each time the gate shuts. The mechanism takes the weight to 90 g. The gate opening is listed as 22.63 mm and the breaking strengths as 22 kN, 8 kN and 8 kN, the first being the major-axis value. The body is aluminium alloy.

Auto-locking gates suit users who clip and unclip often, such as instructors, climbing-wall staff and anyone managing belay stations, because the gate cannot be left unlocked by oversight. Users should still check the sleeve is fully closed before loading.
