Two versions share the AD242 forging: AD242-FT is flat, while AD242-BT is bent at 30 degrees. Both are forged aluminium alloy with an anodised standard finish, weigh 78 g and have a minimum breaking strength of 22 kN.
The choice between them is a design decision for the harness maker. A flat D-ring lies against the webbing and suits back or chest positions, while a 30 degree bend angles the ring outward from the belt or strap, which can make clipping a connector easier at side positions on work positioning belts and harness waist belts. Forging gives an even grain flow through the curve, and at 78 g it saves weight against comparable steel D-rings.
In the RFQ, state which version (FT or BT) is required, the webbing width and thickness, anodising colour and any marking. Dimensions are not listed for this model, so request a drawing for design work. Power Honour can supply the AD242 as OEM or private-label hardware and can adapt the forging to a customer drawing.
