AR022-1 Aluminium Double Back Buckle

Double back buckles take their name from the way they are used: the strap passes through the buckle and is then turned back through it, so the load locks the webbing against itself. The AR022-1 is an aluminium alloy buckle of this type, 3 mm thick; the product photo shows a narrow upper slot above a wider window.

This closure is familiar from climbing, mountaineering, rope access and arborist harnesses, where waist belts and leg loops must be adjustable but must not slip under load. The user information for any product using it needs to explain correct threading, because a double back buckle that is not doubled back cannot hold as intended.

No breaking strength is published for the AR022-1, so the buyer should define the required rating and confirm it in the finished harness by testing. Request a drawing for dimensions, and state webbing width and thickness, finish and colour, and marking in the RFQ. The AR022-2 is listed in the same series.
