AD2251 Aluminium Alloy D-Ring, 15 kN

The AD2251 is the lightest aluminium D-ring in the group at 40 g, with an 8 mm section and a listed breaking strength of 15 kN. The material is aluminium alloy.

Its lower rating and weight make it a candidate for secondary attachment points rather than the main fall arrest connection: gear loops that need more than a plastic ring, positioning belt accessories, rescue equipment, bags and webbing systems where a metal D-ring is wanted without much mass. Whether 15 kN is sufficient depends entirely on the function the ring performs in the final product and on the standard that product must meet, so the designer should match it to the load path rather than assume.
