A613 Aluminium Double Slot Buckle, 15 kN

A double slot buckle is a flat plate with two openings for webbing, and the A613 makes it in aluminium alloy, 4 mm thick, with an anodised standard finish. Its minimum breaking strength is 15 kN.

Threading the strap through both slots creates a friction connection that can be tightened or let out, so buckles like the A613 are used to adjust and terminate leg, waist and shoulder straps on harnesses, and on belts and equipment straps. Aluminium keeps the hardware light, which matters on climbing, rope access and arborist harnesses where several buckles are fitted. Anodising also allows colour coding of straps, for example to help users tell leg and waist adjusters apart.
