A2784 Aluminium Double Slot Buckle, 10 kN

The A2784 is an aluminium alloy double slot buckle, 4 mm thick, with a listed breaking strength of 10 kN. Among the aluminium double slot buckles in this category it has the lowest rating, which places it in adjustment roles rather than in the main load path of a fall arrest system.

Typical positions include secondary adjusters on harness shoulder and chest straps, comfort and fit straps on work positioning belts, and adjustment points on rescue bags, packs and equipment harnesses. The product photo shows a curved plate with two slots, a shape that helps the buckle sit comfortably against the body. Whether 10 kN is adequate for a given position should be decided by the product designer against the standard the finished item must meet.
