AAD-0328-R Aluminium Alloy Hand Ascender

AAD-0328-R is the R-coded counterpart of AAD-0328-L. Both share an aluminium alloy frame, a weight of 210 g and compatibility with 8-13 mm ropes, and the photograph shows the pair together; buyers should confirm the handedness of each code when placing an order. The toothed cam grips the rope in one direction and slides freely in the other, while the moulded handle gives a secure grip.

In rope ascent, the hand ascender is paired with a chest ascender and a foot loop. Rope access teams also use handled ascenders to pass knots, set up small haul systems or provide a temporary attachment. As with all toothed-cam devices, the ascender is designed for static loads and must not be used to arrest a fall.
