Product details
The SS4824 has a closed, pipe-type body rather than an open frame, giving a smooth, enclosed look that suits visible installations. It is made in AISI 316 stainless steel in three end combinations: (1) eye and eye, (2) hook and eye and (3) hook and hook. Six thread sizes are listed: 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 mm (3/16 to 5/8 in.).
L runs from 80 to 190 mm. L1 depends on the end type: on the smallest size it is 135 mm for hook and hook, 130 mm for hook and eye and 125 mm for eye and eye, rising to 314, 306 and 298 mm on the 16 mm size. E (10 to 20 mm) and H (7.5 to 18.0 mm) are also given.
Pipe turnbuckles are widely used on architectural wire balustrades, shade sails, signage and marine wire, where the closed body keeps the threads covered. Working loads should be confirmed for the application, since no load rating is published.
