AP-085 Hot-Forged Aluminium Alloy Pulley

The AP-085 side plates are hot forged in aluminium alloy, a process that aligns the grain flow with the part's shape and gives a dense, consistent structure compared with plate cut from bar. The pulley is rated at 25 kN breaking strength and accepts ropes up to 13 mm in diameter. The second image is a dimension drawing with front and side views.

Rope pulleys of this size are used as redirects, in 3:1 and larger haul systems, for tensioning lines and in tyrolean or guiding set-ups. When rope passes round a pulley through 180 degrees, the load on the attachment point approaches twice the rope tension, so the breaking strength should be read against the full system load. In Europe, pulleys for mountaineering are covered by EN 12278.
