SA-05 Via Ferrata Spring Shock Absorber for Horizontal Lifelines

The SA-05 is a spring-type shock absorber in the horizontal lifeline range. Like the SA-03 and SA-04, it combines a stainless steel body with a stainless steel spring, fits 8 mm wire cable and reduces fall arrest forces.

A shock absorber placed in a horizontal cable near the end anchor compresses when a fall loads the line, lowering the peak force on the anchors and the structure. This is particularly relevant on long spans and on lightweight or older structures where anchor loads must be limited. Permanent stainless construction suits mountain routes, coastal sites and industrial roofs.

To choose between the SA-03, SA-04 and SA-05, buyers should compare drawings, activation force, stroke and end fittings before selecting one, and agree the choice with the system designer. Any absorber that has arrested a fall should be inspected and replaced as the system instructions require. The SA-05 can be supplied as OEM or private label.
