SA-03 Via Ferrata Spring Shock Absorber for Horizontal Lifelines

A stainless steel spring in a stainless steel body gives the SA-03 its energy-absorbing action. It is made for horizontal lifeline systems on via ferrata routes, fits 8 mm wire cable and reduces fall arrest forces. The SA-04 and SA-05 share the same materials and cable size, and the SA03 is the ladder-system equivalent.

When a fall loads a horizontal cable, the spring compresses and spreads the energy over a short distance, so the end anchors and the structure behind them see a lower peak load. Spring absorbers in all-stainless construction are suited to permanent installations exposed to rain, snow and coastal air, such as mountain routes, bridges, roofs and industrial walkways.

To choose between the SA-03, SA-04 and SA-05, buyers should request drawings and test data to compare size, spring characteristics, end fittings and any indicator, and confirm the choice with the system designer. The SA-03 can be supplied as OEM or private-label product, or adapted to a drawing.
