8100A Grade 80 Clevis Grab Hook
The 8100A (Art. No. 8100A) is a Grade 80 clevis grab hook that attaches to alloy chain with a clevis and pin and grips a chain link in its narrow throat. Five chain sizes are listed from 1/4 in (WLL 3500 lb) to 3/4 in (WLL 28300 lb).

Chain sizes for the 8100A run from 1/4 in to 3/4 in. The 1/4 in hook has a working load limit of 3500 lb and weighs 0.62 lb; the 3/8 in is rated at 7100 lb, the 1/2 in at 12000 lb and the 5/8 in at 18100 lb, while the 3/4 in hook carries 28300 lb and weighs 10.69 lb. Minimum breaking load is four times the WLL.
A grab hook has a narrow throat that slips over a chain link and holds it, so it is used to shorten or adjust a chain leg, form a basket or choker arrangement, or secure the free end of a chain. The clevis end pins directly to the chain without a separate connecting link. Applications include chain slings, load securing, towing and general rigging. This is lifting and rigging hardware, not fall protection equipment.
Buyers should match the hook to the chain trade size and grade and check the throat fit on the chain in use. The 8100A can be supplied under OEM or private label, or to a drawing.
