The 018A omega link is published with drawing dimensions for four chain sizes. For 6 mm chain it measures L 28 mm, B 20 mm and G 9 mm and is rated at 1.1 ton. The 7 mm size measures L 32.5 mm, B 25 mm and G 11.4 mm at 2.0 ton; the 10 mm size L 43.7 mm and G 13.9 mm at 3.2 ton; and the 13 mm size L 57 mm, B 40 mm and G 17.5 mm at 5.4 ton. Minimum breaking load is four times the working load limit.
An omega link and its pin make a compact joint between chain legs and master links or end fittings, keeping assemblies short. It is used to build and repair chain slings for construction, manufacturing and general lifting. The 018A is lifting hardware and should not be used as fall-arrest equipment.
Buyers should confirm the chain diameter and grade, the master link section it must fit and pin retention requirements. The 018A can be supplied as OEM or private-label hardware, or adapted to a customer drawing.
