The A-CRM-12-C uses a combi binding: a toe cradle at the front and a heel lever at the back. That arrangement needs only a heel welt on the boot, so it fits a wider range of mountaineering and touring boots than a full step-in model while still locking firmly at the heel.
The frame is aluminium with PU components and an anodised standard finish, has 12 points and weighs 564 g. An anti-snow plate is fitted and can be removed. Aluminium keeps weight low for long approaches and ski-mountaineering objectives, though steel crampons remain the usual choice for hard ice and rocky ground.
