B515WR Aluminium Wire-Gate Carabiner, 10 mm Bar

B515WR pairs a wire gate with a frame formed from 10 mm aluminium alloy bar. It weighs 40 g, has a listed breaking strength of 24 kN and opens to a wide 27 mm.

The wire gate keeps weight down and, with its low mass, is less prone to gate flutter than a solid gate when the carabiner is knocked or shock-loaded. Wire gates also tend to resist freezing in cold, wet conditions. The large opening makes clipping a rope or sling quick and forgiving, so the model suits the rope end of quickdraws, alpine draws, extendable slings and general racking.

It is the non-locking partner of B511, which uses the same 10 mm bar and 24 kN rating with a locking sleeve. B515WR should not be used for belaying or other connections that must stay closed. In your RFQ, state the certification target, any quickdraw sling or assembly, and the colour and marking you need.
