B274K Aluminium Alloy Carabiner, 9 mm Bar

B274K uses the B27 frame, 9 mm aluminium alloy bar shaped to 100 x 56 mm, with a listed breaking strength of 22 kN, a 20 mm gate opening and a weight of 40 g. The product photo and dimension drawing show a straight solid gate.

Straight solid gates are normally used on the bolt end of a quickdraw, where a bent gate could be levered open by the hanger, and for racking equipment on a harness. The slim 9 mm bar keeps the carabiner light, which adds up across a full set of quickdraws.

For the rope end of the same quickdraw, the B27 family offers B276K, pictured with a bent gate, and the wire-gate B275WR; B271K provides a locking model on the same frame. Being non-locking, B274K should not be used for belaying or other connections that must stay closed. When requesting a quotation, confirm the gate type on the drawing and state the certification required, sling assembly and colours.
