A740KNB Aluminium Key-Lock Bent-Gate Carabiner

A740KNB keeps weight to 35 g on a compact 94.5 x 57.8 mm aluminium alloy frame. The bent gate opens to 22 mm and the listed strengths are 24 kN major axis, 8 kN minor axis and 9 kN gate open.

The 9 kN gate-open figure is a useful margin for a quickdraw carabiner, because the gate can be briefly open when a falling climber's rope runs over it. The bent gate helps the rope drop into the basket during fast clipping, and the key-lock nose lets the rope leave without snagging, so the model belongs on the rope end of a quickdraw.

The A740 family also offers A740KNS (straight gate), A740WR (wire gate) and A740KSG (screw gate), which allows a light, consistent range of quickdraws and lockers. A740KNB is non-locking and should not be used for belaying. When requesting a quote, specify the certification needed, any sling assembly and the colour and marking.
