A11096KNB Aluminium Key-Lock Bent-Gate Carabiner

A11096KNB is the bent-gate member of the A11096 family. It is made from aluminium alloy, weighs 40 g and opens to 23 mm. The listed strengths are 24 kN along the major axis, 8 kN across the minor axis and 7 kN with the gate open.

A bent gate curves inward, which helps guide a rope into the basket when clipping quickly, so bent-gate carabiners are usually placed at the rope end of a quickdraw. The key-lock nose avoids catching on the rope or the quickdraw sling during unclipping. Bent gates should not be used on the bolt end, where the curve can be levered open by the hanger.

The same family includes A11096KNS with a straight gate and A11096KSG with a screw gate, so a full quickdraw set and a matching locker can share one design.
