A007WR 7075 Aluminium Wire-Gate Carabiner with SS304 Wire

A007WR combines a 7075 aluminium alloy body with an SS304 stainless steel wire gate. The frame measures 102 x 64 mm and weighs 45 g, and the gate opening of 28 mm is among the widest of the non-locking models listed. Strengths are given as 25 kN major axis, 7 kN minor axis and 8 kN gate open.

A wide gate opening makes clipping a rope quicker and more forgiving, which is why larger wire-gate carabiners are often used at the rope end of quickdraws and for clipping on long or awkward placements. The stainless wire resists corrosion and the light gate reduces gate flutter compared with a heavier solid gate.

A007WR is not a locking connector and should not be used for belaying or other connections that must stay closed.
