AB-038 Aluminium Belay Device, 85 g

AB-038 combines an aluminium body, a weight of 85 g and an 8-12 mm rope range. The photographs show a body with two rope slots and a wire keeper, a layout normally intended for use on one or two strands of rope, as when abseiling on a doubled rope.

As a manual braking device, AB-038 holds the rope through friction controlled by the belayer's brake hand. It is suited to top-rope and lead belaying, instruction and abseiling. In the European market, manual belay devices are covered by EN 15151-2; brands normally hold certification for the finished product under their own name.

The 85 g weight sits between the lightweight AB-030 and AB-034 and the heavier AB-037, giving buyers a mid-weight option. In an RFQ, define the rope diameters and rope types, whether double-strand use must be validated, colour, marking and packaging.
