ANSI-2200TL D-Shape Galvanised Steel Twist-Lock Carabiner

ANSI-2200TL is a D-type carabiner made from 12 mm galvanised steel bar. It measures 113 x 63 mm, has a 17 mm twist-lock gate opening and is listed at 50 kN breaking strength, jointly the highest figure in the ANSI range with 372Z(3600LBS).

It features a captive eye: a pin that can be fitted across the base of the frame to hold a lanyard loop or webbing eye in position, keeping it away from the gate and preventing it from shifting into a weak loading position. The pin is supplied uninstalled, so the lanyard manufacturer can thread the webbing or rope eye and then fit the pin. The second product photo shows the carabiner with the pin in place.

Steel connectors are heavier than aluminium but offer high strength and abrasion resistance on construction sites, towers and industrial plants. ANSI-2200TL sits in the ANSI carabiner range; confirm the standard and edition it is certified to, such as ANSI/ASSP Z359.12, before specifying.
