A455KTL shares its frame and ratings with A455KTL-3 but uses a quicklock closure in place of the triple lock. The aluminium alloy body measures 123.2 x 95.1 mm and opens to 17 mm. Minimum tensile strength is 35 kN, and minimum gate and side-load strengths are 3,600 lbs (16 kN) each. It is specified as meeting ANSI/ASSE Z359.12-2009 and CSA Z259.12-11.
ANSI Z359.12 connectors must have a self-closing, self-locking gate and withstand 3,600 lbf on the gate, requirements that set them apart from recreational carabiners. The product photos show a pear-style aluminium frame with a long silver locking sleeve, pictured in blue and in grey.
Typical uses include connecting lanyards and self-retracting lifelines to anchors, rescue and confined-space equipment, and tower or construction work. The cited editions have since been superseded by ANSI/ASSP Z359.12-2019 and CSA Z259.12-16, so confirm the current certification.
