A017 is an aluminium alloy swivel with a bearing and a 30 kN breaking strength. Fitted between a rope system and its load, it lets the two ends rotate independently so ropes and lanyards do not twist, and it is used in rope rescue, rope access and rigging PPE systems.

Product details
The A017 swivel joins two D-shaped eyes through a bearing, so each eye can rotate freely under load. The body is aluminium alloy, the listed breaking strength is 30 kN, and the photograph shows a two-tone anodised finish. Swivels are placed below pulleys, between a rope and a stretcher or load, or between a lanyard and its connector, to stop twisting that would otherwise tangle ropes or spin a suspended person. Large D-shaped eyes accept several connectors, which helps when building rescue or rigging systems.
