A635 Hot-Forged Aluminium Rope Ascender with Cam

A635 is hot forged from aluminium and uses a cam to grip the rope. Its movable plate opens on two sides, which makes it quick to put on or take off the rope mid-line without threading an end. It fits rope from 8 to 13 mm and weighs 92 g. It is listed as meeting CE EN 567.

EN 567 covers rope clamps for mountaineering: devices that let a rope move in one direction and lock under load in the other. Clamps of this kind are used to ascend fixed ropes, as progress-capture points in hauling and rescue systems, and in caving and expedition work. EN 567 is a different scope from EN 353-2 guided fall arresters, so match the standard to the end use and do not market an EN 567 clamp as a fall-arrest device.
